LGBTQ+ Affirming Church in Fort Wayne
Where yoU can be yoU. UUCFW’s qUUeer community welcomes LGBTQ+ people, families, and allies.
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fort Wayne proudly embraces and affirms the Queer community.

We are one of over 1,000 communities of faith that make up the Unitarian Universalist Association. Here you will find a supportive and friendly home for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) individuals, families, and communities. In fact, our current minister in Fort Wayne and the national president of the UUA both identify as QUUEER.
Always at the forefront of LGBTQ rights and inclusion, for nearly 50 years the UUA has been ordaining LGBTQ ministers, leading LGBTQ-affirming sexuality education for young people, working for rights in society, and promoting inclusion in our congregations.
A Queer-Friendly Church Community
Our faith is grounded in the inherent worth and dignity of every person. You will find a community where LGBTQ+ people participate fully in leadership, worship, education, and fellowship. Your full, authentic self belongs here, and you are celebrated.

About qUUeer at UUCFW
qUUeer is UUCFW’s LGBTQ+ group, meeting on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month at 12:15 p.m.
Together, we support one another, help coordinate UUCFW’s presence at local Pride festivals and community events, sponsor a local LGBTQ+ Unitarian Universalist share-the-plate recipient each year, and help maintain UUCFW’s Welcoming Congregation status with the UUA.
A Welcoming Congregation
The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) has long been a leader in LGBTQ+ inclusion, and its Welcoming Congregation Program helps congregations move from general openness to genuine, affirming community. The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fort Wayne is proud to be a Welcoming Congregation — a commitment rooted in our core belief in the inherent worth and dignity of every person.
Questions LGBTQ+ Newcomers May Have
Newcomers, visitors and longtime members can all fully participate in all aspects of the Congregation, other than voting at the Annual Meeting, which does require membership.
Families and children are welcome in the Sanctuary during service and on the 1st and 3rd Sundays are invited to Youth Religious Education after the Time For All Ages, which is typically reading of a children’s book that ties into the weekly theme.
Our services stream at zoom.uucfw.org and the virtual doors open at about 10:20.
Email quueer@uufortwayne.org, ask anyone with a QUUEER sticker on their name tag for more info, or join us after service for our twice monthly meetings on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month.
We hope you can join us, and that we are a good fit, but if not, Fort Wayne Pride has a list of other options.
